Works alongside

How it works

From first statement to a considered close.

The work has a natural order. Your workspace should, too.

Reports that come with the work behind them.

Review profit and loss, balance sheets, and trial balances. Every figure traces back to a posted entry, and every entry to a source document.

  • Published reports capture the ledger at the approved close
  • Saved reports with filters, comparisons and scheduled delivery
  • Export the general ledger whenever you need it

Questions

Clear expectations, from the beginning.

Who is Vemio built for?

Bookkeeping firms and their business clients. Vemio supports:

  • Statement review, home-currency reporting, cash or accrual books, and calendar-month closes.
  • Invoicing, bills, projects, budgets, and accountant-approved schedules.
  • Report-date aging and printable balance-forward customer/vendor statements, showing recorded document activity in its source currency.
  • Draft business documents with customizable address, payment instructions, footer, accent color, and print layout.
Does AI post entries automatically?

No. AI helps extract statement details and suggest categories. Authorized reviewers approve entries, reconcile accounts, and close periods. Client answers provide context; they do not post entries.

Can clients use the same workspace?

Yes. Invite clients to their assigned businesses so they can answer questions, attach receipts, and view published financial reports.

What does Vemio cost?

Vemio uses seat-based pricing for internal team members, including the owner. Client portal users and client businesses do not consume seats. Review the per-seat price and recurring total in your workspace before checkout. Add seats with prorated billing; reductions take effect at renewal.

What happens if I need to correct a closed month?

An authorized reviewer can reopen a period with a reason. Affected later periods also reopen, and prior reports lose their current status. The original entries and audit history remain available.

Can I connect my bank or run payroll?
Bank connections
Bank feeds through Plaid are optional. Upload PDF or CSV statements to review, reconcile, close and report without a bank connection. Connected clients can match feed observations to statement evidence.
Business and payments
FIFO inventory with reviewed returns and dated valuation for accrual books, partial purchase-order receipts and bills, billable expenses, sales receipts, reviewed time billing, selected foreign-currency invoices and bills, and Stripe invoice payments when connected with matching supported settlement currency. Scheduled vendor payments are recorded obligations, not automatic bank transfers.
Payroll
ADP connections support reviewed hours, Workforce Now previews, supported completed payroll results and reviewed accounting journals. Payroll is approved in ADP; funding and payroll tax services remain separately enabled provider capabilities.
Tax filing
Reviewed federal 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC filing uses TaxBandits when configured, with corrections to accepted returns filed here and optional postal/online recipient copies. Provider filing and delivery are separately paid services. State filing and sales-tax remittance are not included.

Law-firm trust accounting is outside this scope.

Which accounting currencies are supported?

Each business chooses USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF, JPY or KWD for its books and reports.

  • Financial accounts and invoices can use the supported foreign currencies with reviewed exchange rates.
  • Home currency is locked after the first journal.
  • JPY uses zero decimal places, KWD three, and the other listed currencies two.
  • Stripe collection supports those currencies except KWD when the connected merchant settles in the business’s home currency.
  • Provider tax calculation excludes JPY/KWD documents.

Other currencies and third-currency bank settlements are not currently supported.

Can I bring existing books and customize reports?
Importing books
Reviewed cutover accepts normalized CSV exports for accounts, contacts, trial balances, outstanding invoices/bills, FIFO layers and fixed assets. Source control balances must reconcile before approval. It does not read proprietary QBW files or recreate missing transaction history.
Reports and customization
Saved reports support filters, columns, comparisons, queued CSV exports and weekly/monthly delivery to authorized workspace members. Excel export supports up to 2,000 rows with reviewed journal write-back. Custom fields are internal client, contact and document metadata.
Restoring snapshots
Reviewed snapshots restore into a new client; background snapshots are bounded at 64 MB and 100,000 rows per table, and restored automation is paused.
